◎簡 介
戴夫（亞當·桑德勒 Adam Sandler 飾）有著溫文爾雅的外表，和漂亮的女朋友琳達（瑪麗莎·托梅 Marisa Tomei 飾）。但在一次飛行旅行中情緒失控，，被遣送去進行“情緒管理”訓練。課程的負責人精神病醫生巴迪（傑克·尼科爾森 Jack Nicholson 飾）本身就有點瘋癲。一手創建了“情緒管理”理論和治療中心，相關書暢銷不衰。中心的病人個個脾氣古怪，巴迪不斷的逼迫戴夫去做一些近乎發瘋的事情，讓戴夫感到即使不瘋也要快要被逼瘋了。而法庭認為戴夫的進展過於緩慢要送他去監獄。被逼入絕境的戴夫，只好忍受巴迪的刺激療法，戴夫感到自己的極限就要到來，他在退縮封閉自己的內心，還是勇敢面對完整的自己兩個選擇中，猶豫了……
到底巴迪醫生與病人戴夫的磨合調整，會是柳暗花明，還是陷入無盡的內心黑洞當中呢？

◎簡 介
影片改編自Samuel D. Hunter創作的同名戲劇，講述在愛達荷州鄉村一個破舊的公寓里，重達272公斤的英語教師查理（布蘭登·費舍 飾）隱居避世，固執、堅決地要把自己吃死。查理在中年時期為了同性情人拋棄家人，但情人過世後因為悲傷和內疚暴飲暴食，並且嘗試與17歲的女兒艾莉（薩迪·辛克 飾）修覆關系。
