◎簡 介
奄奄一息的維克多.弗蘭肯斯坦（肯尼思·布拉納 Kenneth Branagh 飾）被北極探險船救起，他告訴了船長沃爾頓（艾丹·奎因 Aidan Quinn 飾）一個令人難以置信的故事。年輕的維克多與父母收養的妹妹伊麗莎白（海倫娜·邦漢·卡特 Helena Bonham Carter 飾）生活在一起，一次他偷取了一本使死人覆活試驗的醫學筆記，並用偷來的屍體創造出了一個全新的生命“創造物”（羅伯特·德尼羅 Robert De Niro 飾）。可是“創造物”並不樂意這樣生活，他逃走了企圖開始新生，但是他失敗了，經歷了種種羞辱後他恨透了維克多。在維克多準備與伊麗莎白結婚時，“創造物”回來了，他殘忍的殺死了新娘。悲痛欲絕的維克多故技重施，用伊麗莎白的屍體創造了一個再生人，“創造物”認為再生的新娘與自己是一樣的，企圖占有她，再生新娘以死相抗最後引火自焚。失去一切的維克多拋下一切追逐“創造物”，一直來到北極圈……
